Martin Pepper, was born in the United States, but was raised in Venezuela and Brazil where his father was an expat with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. He has spent thirty two years in the barging business in various positions of increasing responsibility on the Mississippi, Columbia, Parana-Paraguay and Orinoco Rivers working for Canal Barge, Tidewater Barge, and American Commercial Lines. Prior to forming Global Marine Resources, Inc in 2005 he was Senior VP of Global Sales and Marketing for American Commercial Lines and Senior VP of International Business Development. Mr. Pepper has been involved in various stages of developing river transport and terminalling projects on 23 rivers on five continents. He graduated from the Graded School in Sao Paulo, Brazil finishing his education at Tulane University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Harvard University. He resides in Louisville, Kentucky. His clients include Seacor, Alter Trading, TransCanada, Riversdale Mining, InterBarge, Omega Refining, and Coleman Research Group.
